The Applied Research Laboratory for Intelligence and Security (ARLIS) at the University of Maryland, College Park, is now accepting applications for the 2024 Research for Intelligence & Security Challenges (RISC) Initiative internship program (June 3--August 9).

Competitively-selected RISC interns (RISCers) work in teams with mentorship from university faculty and government practitioners, tackling real security and intelligence problems hands-on. Work is largely conducted virtually, with some opportunities for in-person collaboration and in-person project outbriefs presented the final week. Internship participation includes possible sponsorship for a security clearance and brings the opportunity to be considered for future employment with the U.S. government.

Please distribute the attached student solicitation to outstanding U.S. citizen undergraduate and graduate students and encourage them to apply for this unique opportunity. The application site will close on Monday, February 5, 2024.

Want to learn more? We will host a series of RISC information sessions for interested students, including hearing from past RISCers. The next session will be held virtually on Th Dec 14 at 2:00-2:00 PM EST; additional details will be posted on the RISC 2024 page.

Thanks for spreading the word!
