Reply-To: NIA IRP SUMMER PROGRAM CLASS OF 2020 <NIAIRP_SUMM...@list.nih.gov>
Good afternoon everyone,
I hope everyone is having a productive semester and looking forward to celebrating the holidays with family and friends!
The 2024 NIH Summer Internship Program (SIP) application process began on November 17, 2023.
The 2024 NIH SIP will be in-person.
APPLICATION DEADLINE:
The application deadline for the NIH SIP-HIGH SCHOOL and GENERAL SIP is February 16, 2024 at 12 Noon (Eastern Standard Time).
Please note that this deadline is earlier than the annual deadline that the NIH has used in the past. Be aware and reinforce this deadline with those applicants who you encounter.
Please take the time to visit the NIH Summer Internship Program (SIP) Website: https://www.training.nih.gov/programs/sip
If you plan to apply, please
- Submit and complete your application by Wednesday, January 10 (a Ms. Jackson suggestion!)
- The SIP application closes on Friday, February 16, 2024 at noon ET. NO EXCEPTIONS!!!
- Reference letters are due before Friday, February 23, 2024 at noon ET – You should request reference letters before you leave for winter break.
- Send me an email letting me know of your interest to return to the NIA
- Reach out directly to NIA PIs whose lab you would be interested in working: https://www.nia.nih.gov/research/labs/irp-labs; copy me on your email.
- Check-out the NIH SIP Information Session Thursday, Jan 4 (3-4 pm): https://www.training.nih.gov/events/attnihsip-010424/
- Frequently asked questions (FAQ)
*note* If you plan to apply to any of the NIH subprograms (CCSEP,C-SOAR, V-SOAR, G-SOAR, GDSSP and M-SOAR) your application will be held exclusively by that program and NOT available for the NIA to review/view until that program has made its selections. Given our timeline for selecting students, this may cause you to miss an opportunity with the NIA.
Please let me know if you have additional questions after you have thoroughly reviewed the website.
Mj (Ms. Jackson)🤗🤗🤗
Have a safe, enjoyable, and refreshing winter break on PURPOSE😉❗‼
