Dear Dr. Levy,
The Office of Biostatistics Research (OBR) of the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute (NHLBI) has vacant positions for two contractors. OBR supports the intramural and extramural clinical research studies of the NHLBI. A suitable candidate would possess a PhD. in biostatistics, math stat (or a highly related field). Applied experience in a biostatistical field is a plus (desired) but not required. An initial appointment would be for one year and is renewable. Salary will be commensurate with the candidate’s experience.
The OBR serves as the primary biostatistical resource for the NHLBI. The members of the Office collaborate broadly, participating in the planning, design, implementation, monitoring, and analyses of studies funded by NHLBI, including large and significant extramural clinical trials, and basic biomedical and clinical studies sponsored by the Division of Intramural Research. The OBR’s primary mission is to provide objective, statistically sound and medically relevant solutions to problems that are presented. When methodology is needed to answer the questions posed, the OBR is expected to obtain new and valid statistical solutions which are then published in the biostatistics and/or medical literature. The OBR staff has interests in statistical methodology relevant to biomedical and clinical research studies.
Suitable candidates can email a CV and cover letter to Dr. Nancy Geller (OBR Director) at nancy....@nih.govand Dr. James Troendle (OBR Deputy Director) at james.t...@nih.gov. We hope to receive interested responses by the end of February and are eager to begin to interview candidates.
Thank you for any help you may give us to find appropriate candidates.
Best wishes,
James
