The
LSU Virtual Math Circle Program is hiring Research Mentors who will plan one or two math research projects accessible to high school students during two sessions this summer.
Session I: Monday, June 9 - Saturday, June 28, 2025
Session II: Monday, July 14 - Saturday, August 2, 2025
Qualifications
Applicants must either hold a PhD in a math-related field or be currently enrolled as a graduate student working towards a PhD in a math-related field, and be eligible for United States employment.
Stipend
Research Mentors are compensated $2,500 per session, with a possible total of $7,400.
Research Mentor Job Description
Research mentors plan at least one mathematics research project accessible to high school students. Each research group will be composed of four students and their research mentor. Each research mentor is responsible for virtually supervising these students and guiding them through their research project, as well as aiding them in preparing their final presentation at the end of the program.

Applications have been extended to March 29, 2025. All applications submitted by the posted deadline will be considered. Late applications may be considered only if student enrollment demand calls for the availability of additional topics.
