Subject: Fwd: Math Grad Students...
To: Stephanie Padgett <spad...@umd.edu>

Stephanie,

Happy Friday! I just received this message from a colleague of mine from my doctoral program; he is looking for math grad students who would be interested in teaching some online courses on advanced math topics. I figure that we might have some grad students who are interested, so I was hoping to circulate this information. I've pasted the relevant information below. Let me know if there's any other information that'd be useful or if there's anyone else I should reach out to with this.

Thanks!

We are looking for some folks that might be interested in teaching very-part-time for Prestans (probably on the level of 2-5 teaching hours a week, paid at $80+/hr depending on class size). I'm reaching out to you because we're seeing increased interest in Multivariable Calculus, Linear Algebra, and Calculus-Based Statistics and some of our instructors are not comfortable teaching at that level (since we have a lot of high school teachers!), but I thought some MATH-affiliated grad students might be interested.

If you know anyone in the department who might be interested, please connect them with me at pm...@prestans.us.

I should add that our connections to potential teachers are really flexible: we offer up classes based on who we think might be interested, but there is no obligation to take the class if it doesn't match a teacher's schedule. These students in particular are highly motivated, eager to learn math, and we have lots of course materials for the courses -- just need instructors to be their guide.

Let me know!!

Regards,
Peter
