Free leadership worksheets

If you haven’t seen our free leadership worksheets yet, you can find the growing collection here.

They are designed to give you practical exercises that you can use yourself or share with colleagues and team members. We’re currently working on the next worksheet, which will focus on managing your time and attention when everything seems to be competing for both.

I hope you have an enjoyable autumn, and I look forward to seeing some of you on one of our courses later this year or in 2027.

With kind regards,

Sam Krahl

Scientific Skills Courses

We also offer a range of online core scientific skills training to support PhD students and early-career postdocs in the essentials of research conduct and communication. The courses have been developed and are taught by the editors at the EMBO Press journals.

Scientific integrity - Foundational concepts in research planning, executing and reporting to deliver robust, reproducible research beyond reproach.

Communicating research - From planning which figures to include in a paper to 'elevator pitches' that convey novelty and insight; the complete communication toolkit for research findings.

How to review a paper - A robust, analytical and empathetic approach to supporting authors to make the best of their research and maintaining the scientific record.

All of these courses can be organised at your request and delivered for your people to support them in their delivery of cutting edge, reproducible research. Click below to find out more!
