Dossiê: Inteligência artificial e inteligência biológica-humana: convergências, divergências e consequências.
Assistimos nas últimas três décadas a extraordinários desenvolvimentos na tecnologia de tratamento e difusão de informação corriqueiramente denominada Inteligência Artificial (IA). Esta tecnologia imita operações e resultados da inteligência neurobiológica humana (INH), ameaçando igualar ou até superar o desempenho linguístico e cognitivo humano, tanto do ponto de vista quantitativo como qualitativo. Porém, a IA parece ainda encontrar-se aquém das capacidades da INH, uma vez que não surge acompanhada de consciência, intencionalidade, imaginação, criação conceitual iconoclasta etc. Não obstante existirem estas e outras diferenças relevantes entre a IA e a INH, o atual estado da arte da primeira cria na sociedade humana a ilusão de similitude dos dois tipos de inteligência, motivando a ideia coletiva de identidade ou indiscirnibilidade de funções e resultados. Esta ideia encontra-se bem patente em previsões controversas, por vezes demasiado otimistas, de outras excessivamente pessimistas, acerca do eventual surgimento a breve trecho - talvez num evento de singularidade de máquina - de uma IA funcionalmente igual e até superior à INH, a por vezes chamada Inteligência Artificial Geral (IAG). Levando em conta este enquadramento conceitual como ponto de partida, convidam-se eventuais interessados na relação entre IA e INH a submeter um artigo original, individual ou em coautoria, para publicação no dossiê em epígrafe. A publicação ocorrerá em julho de 2026 na Argumentos (Qualis CAPES A2), revista pertencente ao Programa de Pós-Graduação em Filosofia da Universidade Federal do Ceará. As submissões devem seguir o Guia para Autores da revista e ser realizadas até ao final de maio de 2026 em https://www.periodicos.ufc.br/argumentos; ou, alternativamente, devem ser enviadas para luises...@ufc.br. Invitation/call for papers
Issue: Artificial intelligence and biological-human intelligence: convergences, divergences and consequences.
We have witnessed, in the last three decades, extraordinary developments in the information processing and dissemination technology, commonly referred to as Artificial Intelligence (AI). This technology mimics the operations and results of human neurobiological intelligence (HNI), threatening to equal or even surpass human linguistic and cognitive performance, both quantitatively and qualitatively. However, AI still appears to fall short of HNI's capabilities, as it lacks consciousness, intentionality, imagination, iconoclastic conceptual creation, etc. Despite these and other significant differences between AI and HNI, the current state of the art of the former creates in human society the illusion of similarity between the two types of intelligence, fostering the collective idea of identity or indistinguishability of functions and results. This notion appears to be obvious in controversial predictions, sometimes overly optimistic, sometimes excessively pessimistic, about the possible emergence soon - singularity - an AI functionally equal to and even superior to INH, an entity sometimes called Artificial General Intelligence (AGI). Taking this conceptual framework as a starting point, we invite anyone interested in the relationship between AI and INH to submit an original article, either individually or co-authored, for publication in the aforementioned issue. Publication will occur in July 2026 in Argumentos (Qualis CAPES A2), a journal belonging to the Graduate Program in Philosophy at the Federal University of Ceará. Submissions must follow the journal's Author Guidelines and be submitted by may 2026 to https://www.periodicos.ufc.br/argumentos. Notice of acceptance will be delivered to the authors by June 2026.
