Overview
The rapid development and predictable widespread adoption of neurotechnologies invites a critical examination of the challenges they already pose to users of brain implants. These challenges raise fundamental questions about the future of care, user-provider-medical practitioner power relations, and the regulation of human-machine interaction.
This special issue aims to advance the debate by integrating welfarist, relational, and critical perspectives on neurotechnology and neuroethics.

Submission Information
Full submissions are due May 29, 2026.
We welcome submissions of varying lengths, though typical manuscripts range between 6,000 and 8,000 words (maximum 10,000 words, including footnotes but excluding references, title, and abstract).
Manuscripts should be prepared according to Neuroethics’ author submission guidelines and submitted through the journal’s online system. When uploading your paper, please indicate that it is intended for the special issue “Artificial Intelligence, Neurotechnologies and Neuroethics”
All submissions will undergo double-blind peer review according to the journal’s standard procedures.
