Dear all,
We are happy to announce the iDiv Summer School 2026 "Passion for Collecting – Collection-Based Research in Plant Ecology", 24-28 August 2026, in Leipzig, Germany! This year’s iDiv Summer School is led by iDiv members Solveig Franziska Bucher (SIP Jena), Sebastian Gebauer (SIP Jena), and Robert Rauschkolb (PhenObs).
At the iDiv Summer School 2026, participants explore how these collections help us understand plant and ecosystem responses to land use and climate change. They will collect and analyse data in Leipzig and Jena, measure functional traits, study phenology, compare species worldwide, and present their results.
The summer school is aimed at MSc students and doctoral researchers. Participants from regions often underrepresented in science can apply for funding.
For more information and the link for application, please visit https://www.idiv.de/events/summerschool2026/ or see the flyer attached.
Deadline for applications is 31 March 2026.
Please forward this email to your students and within your networks – thank you!
Best wishes on behalf of the Summer School teachers and the iDiv Events & Education team,
Nicole
