The Seattle District, Engineering and Construction Division, Hydraulics, Hydrology, and Coastal Branch, Hydraulic and Coastal Engineering Section - is recruiting for Coastal Engineer, GS-11/12 for a Term NTE 4 Years (with the possibility for extension). May be selected at either grade level with non-competitive promotion potential to GS-12 grade level. Duty location is Seattle, WA. Announcement closes on 24 March 2022.

DUTIES:

 

*             Manage, coordinate, and perform studies related to tidal and inland waterways and harbors and coastal shorelines as related to channel and harbor maintenance.

*             Formulates working hypotheses and theoretical solutions to actual problem areas

*             Determines scope of work, proposed budgets, and completion schedules.

*             Formulates study programs and determines scopes of field work and data collection necessary for successful completion.

*             Manages and directs collection of data, interprets data, and prepares permanent records and reports.

*             Manages contractual work by Corps and private laboratories in performing data collection, model tests or laboratory analyses.

*             Coordinates with other District offices to insure effective integration of the work with those offices in the overall study.

*             Represents Seattle District on channel and harbor issues at appropriate meetings of public and professional groups.

*             Responds to requests for information and technical assistance on areas of expertise and experience in coastal Washington.
