The U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) is seeking qualified candidates for temporary Hydrologic Technician (Field Assistant) positions throughout the Southeast Region, including three positions at the St. Petersburg Coastal and Marine Science Center (SPCMSC) in
St. Petersburg, FL. Selected individuals in St. Petersburg will contribute to coastal engineering and oceanography research, including coastal data collection, nearshore instrumentation deployment, and numerical modeling activities.

Appointment Type: Temporary excepted service, not to exceed one year; up to 1,039 hours.

Duty Stations: Multiple locations across the Southeast Region, including St. Petersburg, FL (SPCMSC).

Eligibility: Open to U.S. citizens.

Qualification (GG‑05): Applicants must meet one of the following criteria:

At least 9 months of field experience;

Three years of experience;
-
Three years of college coursework (90 semester hours/135 quarter hours) plus three months of laboratory or field work. If qualifying via education, unofficial transcripts are required.
