Training School - 5th Hands-on course on experimental and numerical modelling of wave structure interaction

Dear colleagues,

We are pleased to announce the 5th edition of the Training School “Hands-on course on experimental and numerical modelling of wave–structure interaction”, which will take place in Florence, Italy, from 14 to 18 September 2026.

The course is jointly organized by the Laboratory of Maritime Engineering - LABIMA, University of Florence, and the developers of the DualSPHysics code, and is aimed at MSc students, PhD candidates, early-career researchers, and professionals interested in coastal and offshore engineering, with a focus on modelling wave energy converters.

The training school offers a combination of theoretical lectures and hands-on sessions, focusing on:

• experimental modelling of wave–structure interaction;
• numerical modelling using DualSPHysics;
• applications to wave energy converters and coastal structures;
• practical activities and guided exercises.
