INTERCOH 2026 New Orleans, USA 8-11 September 2026
We would like to invite you for the 18th edition of the conference INTERCOH (www.intercoh2026.org), held between 8-11 September, 2026 in New Orleans, Louisiana, USA. INTERCOH is the INTERnational conference for research on COHesive sediments. Scientists and engineers share their passion for mud, with the aim to improve our understanding of the dynamics of cohesive sediment in the natural and built environment. Historically the conference has attracted approximately 100-150 experts in cohesive sediment, spanning international research communities and career stages from student, early career, and senior researchers.
This conference covers all research that is related to cohesive sediments, ranging from:
- Small-scale flocculation to estuarine-scale transport processes;
- Harbor siltation to wetland restoration;
- Consolidated mud to light attenuation over coral reefs;
- Near-bed low-Reynolds number simulations to basin scale morphodynamics
- Lab experiments to field campaigns;
- Turbulence to geological timescales;
- Tidal flats to the continental shelf; and
- Numerical modeling to observational techniques.
Abstract submission will open 30 January 2026, and proceedings will be published in a special issue of Frontiers in Marine Science. A student workshop is planned before the conference.
