Invitation to join Composite beaches and dynamic revetments network and seminar series

Dear Coastal List members,
 
We would like to invite you to join an initiative that aims to build a global network of scientists and engineers who share an interest in composite beaches and dynamic cobble berm revetments for coastal protection. The network aims to promote these topics, foster collaborations, and efficiently use our resources and knowledge toward common goals.

The core activity of this network will be to organize online seminars, where ongoing or recently published projects will be presented and discussed with the community. The seminar series began in April 2025, and we look forward to more interesting and informative presentations. The next seminar will be organized by Oregon State University and is next week, February 25, at 5 PM CET/4 PM GMT/11 AM EST/8 AM PST/etc.

Our speakers are Hironori Matsumoto (Scripps Institution of Oceanography) , who will be presenting a talk entitled "Monitoring subsurface sediment structure within gravel berms" , and Andrew Schult and Louiza Wise (Oregon State University), who will jointly be presenting a talk entitled "Measuring runup and ecological communities on composite beaches and dynamic revetments."
