NOAA Global Forecast System (GFS) wave is back up and running

We are happy to report that the GFS-Wave website is back up and running!

The website has been down since the beginning of July 2022, when we switched supercomputers.  It has now been ported to the new system, and we will endeavour to keep it up to date the best we can.  This is NOT an operational product and is NOT supported 24-7.  Please read the notice at the top of the website for where you can find the operational products that are guaranteed to always be available.  We suggest you check them out and see if they fulfill your needs.

The GFS-Wave website is targeted to be shut down UNLESS there is sufficient public demand for it.  There is a drafted PNS
"Soliciting Public Comments on shutting down of certain web graphics being produced by EMC"
that will eventually be released here:
https://www.weather.gov/notification/
That document will have an email address to which you can submit your comments.  When the PNS is available, it will be linked at the top of the GFS-Wave website.  If you are interested in the continued presence of the GFS-Wave website, please keep an eye out for it and submit your comments when the PNS is available.

Please let others know that the GFS-Wave website is back, and to look out for the PNS so that they too can submit their comments.
