NOAA's Coastal Coupling Community of Practice (CC CoP) Total Water Level Working Group needs your input!

The Total Water Level Working Group seeks to understand the current state of progress on operational forecasting systems for coastal total water level.  To address this goal, we are working to identify forecast models simulating total water level and their characteristics.

Ensure that your total water level model system is part of the study by filling out the survey below by Tuesday, March 31, 2026. The survey will take 2-20 minutes to complete.

Take the survey! (https://touchpoints.app.cloud.gov/touchpoints/fec6542e/submit)

The Total Water Level Working Group is led by Meg Palmsten (USGS) and Dr. Hassan Mashriqui ( NOAA/NWS/OWP/APD ).  The Working Group is focused on contributing to ongoing total water level modeling by focusing on:
  • improved physics
  • the addition of hyper-resolution
  • improved understanding of geomorphic changes
  • and other improvements proposed by the CC CoP
In addition to providing details of your total water level modeling system, you can provide input on how this Working Group can support your modeling efforts!

Please reach out to the CC CoP team (coastal....@noaa.gov) with questions.
