We are hiring a Postdoctoral Research Fellow (Hydrodynamic Modelling of Blue Carbon Sediment Dynamics)

This position is part of a larger effort on measuring and modelling blue carbon dynamics, with a focus on how hydrodynamic forcing influences sediment transport and blue carbon accretion in mangrove and seagrass habitats.

We aim to:
(1) Develop hydrodynamic and sediment transport models (short-term and long-term) for coastal blue carbon habitats 🌊
(2) Conduct and analyse field measurements of flow conditions, turbulence, sediment trap mass, and related environmental parameters 📍
(3) Quantify links between hydrodynamic intensity and sediment / carbon accretion using field and modelling data 🌿
(4) Work with a broader interdisciplinary team to integrate hydrodynamic results with sediment and restoration datasets 💻

We are looking for someone with:
✔ PhD in Coastal / Ocean / Environmental / Civil Engineering (or a related field)
✔ Strong background in environmental fluid mechanics, hydrodynamic modelling, and sediment analysis
✔ Experience with coastal or estuarine field measurements and / or numerical tools such as Delft3D or equivalent
✔ Strong publication record, coding / data-analysis skills, and willingness to participate in field deployments
