Salary: $35K Part-time (20 hours per week); $70K at Full-Time Transition

Who We Are. RCOAST is a coastal change data company advancing intelligent adaptation through repeat drone-based LiDAR, RGB, and multispectral data capture. We provide communities, engineers, and academics with seasonal and rapid-response data collection, mitigation performance metrics, and science-based adaptation solutions. To support real-world decision-making, we translate complex coastal dynamics into clear, simple graphics that help communities understand the science behind their changing coastlines. RCOAST’s mitigation libraries reveal what works best and where—turning complex data into actionable intelligence.

Our mission is to make high-resolution coastal data accessible, intuitive, and actionable, delivering validated, science-backed intelligence to the practitioners who need it to build a more resilient tomorrow. Our priority is to leverage cross-system learning from implemented coastal mitigation strategies and openly share performance outcomes across regions, accelerating evidence-based adaptation and enhancing the resilience of coastal communities worldwide.

Role Overview. We are seeking a self-motivated office manager and data administrator. As office manager, they will assist with task management, daily operations, project tracking, and the dissemination of high-quality data-products to our clients. Further, they will provide high-level administrative support to the CEO and leadership team, including inbox organization, scheduling meetings, coordinating individual and team calendars, preparing materials, and arranging travel and logistics. We are a data company and our office administrator serves as a data admin that will track and streamline our workflow and assist the team with operational tasks when needed. An ideal candidate will have experience working in an administrative role within a coastal community, similar to a shoreline director, environmental planner, coastal resilience manager, floodplain manager, and/or sustainability planner.

Candidates must thrive in a small, collaborative team environment—bringing positivity, strong communication, and a supportive spirit to a startup culture. We are a young and energized group of coastal scientists, and we are looking for someone equally excited to grow with us as we build tools to protect the world’s coasts.

Required Qualifications.

  • B.S. in an Environmental Science or Policy Field: Geology, Geomorphology, Environmental Science etc.

  • Extremely self-motivated with an ability to adapt and thrive in a startup setting

  • Experience managing every-day office operations

  • Exceptional data organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively

  • Experience using the Google Suite (docs, sheets, drive, forms etc.), and other office management software

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to foster collaboration in a hybrid environment

  • Ability to work collaboratively in a small, team-oriented environment, with strong communication and problem-solving skills

Preferred Qualifications.

  • Experience working in an administrative role for a coastal community

  • Familiarity with a variety of geospatial data including LiDAR, RGB, and multispectral

  • Skills in GIS (QGIS is preferred) with an application in environmental sciences

Employment Status: RCOAST is committed to building a diverse, world-class coastal science and data team. Right now, we can only hire candidates who already have authorization to work in the U.S., as we are not yet able to sponsor visas. As we grow, we fully intend to revisit this so we can welcome talent from anywhere.

Questionnaire: Once you send your resume and/or CV to ad...@r-coast.com, our team will send you a short follow-up questionnaire. Please complete it to help us better understand your experience and ensure your application progresses.  Responses are due by December 8, 2025.
