The Pan American Marine Energy Conference Association (PAMEC) has extended the deadline for Expressions of Interest to submit an extended abstract for presentation at PAMEC 2024 in Barranquilla, Colombia, January 22-24, 2024. We received an encouraging number of Expressions of Interest from across Pan America and internationally on a wide range of topics, but also requests to extend the deadline if possible.
Marine Energy research themes include Tidal & In-stream, Wave, Ocean Current, Offshore Wind, Ocean Thermal Energy Conversion (OTEC), Salinity Gradient, Biofuels & E-Fuels and Floating Photovoltaic (Solar) and Resource characterization on such topics as Technology design and testing, Moorings and anchors, Environmental Effects, Fabrication and deployment, Social acceptance, social/economic effects and benefits, Policy, Grid connection, and Risk reduction.
PAMEC will use a two-step process for abstract submissions. A short expression of interest stating your topic title and any other explanation (100-200 words) is to be submitted through a form on the PAMEC website by April 15, 2023.
Feedback will be provided on the short abstract and if it is within our scope and not promotional/commercial, an invitation will be made to submit an extended abstract (3-5 pages) for presentation at the conference and publication thereafter. The deadline for extended abstracts remains June 26, 2023.
A small number of extended abstracts will be invited to prepare a full paper for a special issue of a journal, to proceed after the conference. |
