The Institute of Marine Sciences of the Italian National Research Council (CNR-ISMAR) is looking for a Ph.D. candidate to work on exploiting the benefits (and exploring the limitations) of machine-learning based tools for wave modelling and forecasting in coastal and open-ocean regions.
The Ph.D. candidate will follow the 3-year program of the Ph.D. school in “Sciences of Civil, Environmental and Architectural Engineering“ at the University of Padua (Padua, Italy) starting in November 2024 and will work in close collaboration with the CNR-ISMAR researchers in Venice (Italy) on the topic “Artificial intelligence for sea state forecasting in coastal and off-shore contexts” (scholarship funded by Istituto di Scienze Marine - ISMAR del Consiglio Nazionale delle Ricerche - CNR).
