One of the most important academic research
institutes in marine sciences in Canada, the Institut des sciences de la mer of
the Université du Québec à Rimouski (ISMER-UQAR), in partnership with the
Geological Survey of Canada is launching a prestigious scholarship program for
students from Quebec, other Canadian provinces or countries.
We are seeking 2 motivated PhD candidates to work with us in Arctic coastal environments! An important component of those projects involves fieldwork in remote Arctic areas. We are looking for students from various backgrounds (oceanography, geoscience, geomorphology, coastal morphodynamics, glaciology, etc.) with an interest in multidisciplinary, community-based, participative research.
Project #1: Climate-driven coastal transformations in the Western Canadian Arctic: coastal-nearshore sediment dynamics and hazards.
Project #2: Glacial and hydrodynamic controls on the evolution of Arctic coastlines.
Feel free to contact me if you have any question.
