Dear Colleagues,
The Boston College Department of Earth and Environmental Sciences invites applications for a postdoctoral researcher in barrier island morphodynamics, supervised by Prof. Kat Wilson. We seek an individual with a recent PhD and a strong background in quantitative geomorphology, sediment transport, coastal processes, and geospatial analysis. Experience with lidar time series and nearshore oceanographic data is desirable.

The postdoctoral researcher will investigate decadal-scale barrier island evolution and resilience in natural and anthropogenically-modified systems. They will join a collaborative team studying landscape evolution and sedimentary processes in coastal and fluvial systems. The role also includes dedicating approximately 15% of time to mentoring lab group students and supporting the principal investigators in managing the Coastal Sedimentology Laboratory.

The position is funded for one year, with a likely option to extend depending on external funding. The desired start date is September 1, 2025. To apply, please email a CV,  a cover letter outlining research experience and goals for the position, and the names of three references to kathlee...@bc.edu. Please feel free to reach out directly with questions.

The starting salary is $65,000, with higher pay bands possible depending on years of postdoctoral experience. Review of applications will begin as they are received. Boston College conducts pre-employment background checks as part of the hiring process.
