Nominations for the International Coastal Engineering Award are due November 1.
The International Coastal Engineering Award is made annually to an individual who has made a significant contribution to the advancement of coastal engineering in the manner of engineering design, teaching, professional leadership, construction, research, planning, or a combination thereof. The recipient of the International Coastal Engineering Award is to be chosen from the international community of coastal engineers, without restriction as to nationality or Society membership.
The nomination package consisting of a cover letter, official nomination form, the nominee’s CV or biographical information, and 2 or 3 (max) letters of recommendation can be submitted electronically to awa...@asce.org
Details on the rules, previous awardees, and a link to the ASCE award nomination form are available:

To clarify the process, a nomination package is prepared by an individual from the international coastal community and sent to the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) Awards Committee. The ASCE Awards Committee screens nomination packages for completeness, and then complete packages are sent to the COPRI Coastal Engineering Research Council (CERC) for review. The CERC reviews all of the new nomination packages plus nomination packages held over from previous cycles to select a single nominee. The CERC forwards this single nomination to the COPRI Awards Committee to ensure that the appropriate process was followed in the selection of the nominee. When satisfied that the appropriate process was followed, the COPRI Awards Committee forwards the nomination to the COPRI Board of Governors for approval. Final approval shall be the responsibility of the ASCE Executive Committee. A nomination package for an unselected candidate is held over for reconsideration for two years.
Please consider nominating a colleague for this award. Thank you,
Dan Cox
CERC Secretary
