Dear coast enthusiasts,

My group at LSU is looking for a postdoctoral researcher interested in modeling hydro-ecological feedbacks in deltaic wetlands starting in the fall 2024. The project is on coupling a well-established hydrodynamic model with a dynamic vegetation code to assess inundation times and vegetation establishment in Wax Lake Delta. The position is funded for 18 months within a collaborative project with researchers at UT Austin and includes funds for field trips and conferences.

The ideal candidate has experience in python and hydrodynamic modeling with an interest in ecological processes. The position will focus on model development and coupling in python to then assess inundation patterns and dynamic vegetation establishment and growth in Wax Lake Delta (Mississippi River Delta) at varying spatial scales.

Application deadline is July 21. Please share widely and reach out with any questions to mbru...@lsu.edu.

Best,
Muriel Z.M. Brückner, Ph.D.
