RCOAST is hiring! Please read the description below and send your CV or resume to ad...@r-coast.com before December 7th, 2025. Include the position you are applying for in the email subject.
If you are interested in turning complex coastal dynamics into clear, actionable intelligence, we’d love for you to apply.
Cheers,
The RCOAST Team
Position: Remote Drone Pilot, Multiple Roles Open
Employment: Contract-based, with possible transition to Full-Time
Contract-Based: $45–$65/hour (based on experience), with overtime pay plus full per diem and travel expenses covered for all field missions.
Location: Gulf and Atlantic Coast of the U.S.
Due Date to Apply: December 7, 2025
Who We Are. RCOAST is a coastal change data company advancing intelligent adaptation through repeat drone-based LiDAR, RGB, and multispectral data capture. We provide communities, engineers, and academics with seasonal and rapid-response data collection, mitigation performance metrics, and science-based adaptation solutions. To support real-world decision-making, we translate complex coastal dynamics into clear, simple graphics that help communities understand the science behind their changing coastlines. RCOAST’s mitigation libraries reveal what works best and where—turning complex data into actionable intelligence.
Our mission is to make high-resolution coastal data accessible, intuitive, and actionable, delivering validated, science-backed intelligence to the practitioners who need it to build a more resilient tomorrow. Our priority is to leverage cross-system learning from implemented coastal mitigation strategies and openly share performance outcomes across regions, accelerating evidence-based adaptation and enhancing the resilience of coastal communities worldwide.
Role Overview. We are seeking multiple Remote Drone Pilots (FAA Part 107 Certified) to join our mission-driven team advancing coastal resilience through data and science. These remote roles will be based along the Atlantic and Gulf Coasts of the U.S. and require frequent travel for both scheduled field missions and rapid-response deployments, including pre- and post-storm data collection.
The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with UAV-based LiDAR, RGB, and/or multispectral datasets. Experience setting up base stations for RTK corrections, working with the National Geodetic Survey, uploading and processing data through OPUS, and georeferencing LiDAR and imagery datasets using ground control points (GCPs) is required.
Equally important, we are looking for someone who thrives in a small, collaborative team environment—bringing positivity, clear communication, and a supportive spirit to our startup culture. We are a young, energized group of coastal scientists, and we want someone who is equally excited to grow with us as we build the tools communities need to protect the world’s coasts.
These Remote Drone Pilot roles will support projects across the Atlantic and Gulf Coasts, playing a critical role in capturing high-quality data to track and manage coastal change. Experience mapping coastal systems and an understanding of coastal processes are strongly preferred.
Required Qualifications.
FAA-certified UAV Pilot with an active Part 107 license.
Remote role based on the Gulf and Atlantic Coasts of the U.S.; frequent travel required
Demonstrated experience planning, executing, and managing UAV flight missions for data collection.
Experience setting up RTK base stations, working with National Geodetic Survey data, processing data through OPUS, and georeferencing datasets with ground control points (GCPs).
Skilled in collection, processing and georeferencing of LiDAR, multispectral, and/or RGB datasets.
Willingness to travel for both regularly scheduled projects and rapid-response mobilizations.
Excitement to build and lead a remote pilot team, including developing SOPs for data collection and data management.
Leadership mindset, with enthusiasm for building and managing a remote pilot team and developing SOPs for data collection, data management, and field operations.
Employment Status: RCOAST is committed to building a diverse, world-class coastal science and data team. Right now, we can only hire candidates who already have authorization to work in the U.S., as we are not yet able to sponsor visas. As we grow, we fully intend to revisit this so we can welcome talent from anywhere.
Questionnaire: Once you send your resume and/or CV to ad...@r-coast.com, our team will send you a short follow-up questionnaire. Please complete it to help us better understand your experience and ensure your application progresses. Responses are due by December 7, 2025.
