McKnight Post-Doctoral Fellow
Job Description:
The two-year postdoctoral fellow will have a 12-month salary of $50K per year, with a $10K fund that can be used for research, travel, supplies, etc. As a post-doctoral researcher, the candidate is expected to participate in research directions that contribute to current research in Dr. Qu’s laboratory. These research activities include, but are not limited to, researching on machine learning framework for data-driven and physics-informed modeling for system dynamics and control. The research efforts are aimed towards building an effective learning framework for dynamic systems modeling, identification, and control in industrial settings. Job duties include designing and conducting experiments; analyzing data; developing and testing algorithms and models; preparing manuscripts based on the results of the experiments; presenting at meetings and conferences; supervising undergraduate and graduate students. Besides the research work, the postdoctoral fellow is also expected to teach one course per semester like introduction to engineering, dynamic systems, controls, kinematics, or machine learning and data analytics.
Career Development:
The postdoctoral fellow will have opportunities to apply for
internal and external funding and receive mentoring on future career
development and application for permanent positions.
