Starting in January 2025, I will join Texas A&M U as a faculty member in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering.
TAMU will provide funds to renovate and expand the existing Fluid Dynamics Laboratory that Prof. Kuang-an Chang and colleagues in the Coastal Engineering group have already established. The wind-wave-current flume is the centrepiece of the Laboratory. We plan to enhance flume’s capabilities and conduct small-scale experiments in air-sea interactions. We will also investigate various wind wave theories and develop wind-wave-current models.
I am currently recruiting 2 PhD students and 2 postdocs to work with me and my colleagues at TAMU. For PhD students, the candidates should have already had some experiences in conducting academic research in the relevant areas, which could be either theoretical (numerical) or experimental research. For the postdocs, it is essential that the candidates can demonstrate his/her ability of conducting independent and original research. The quality of the research results out-weights the number of published papers. Again, the candidate could be trained as a theoretician, a numerical analyst or an experimentalist.
If you are interested in academic research in the general area of wind-wave-current interactions, feel free to contact me at phili...@gmail.com. To expedite the review process, please send me your CV and representative publications (if any).
