Dear Coastal Listers,

It is a pleasure to inform you that the preliminary program for SCACR2025 has been published on our conference website.

We are thrilled to share that more than 70 scientific contributions have been submitted and will be presented at the conference, either as oral presentations or posters.

Prof. Agustín Sánchez-Arcilla , Director of LIM in Barcelona, will join SCACR2025 as honored guest, delivering a Lectio Magistralis titled:

"Coastal Adaptation by Combining Conventional and Nature-Based Solutions"

Abstract:
The challenges of coastal and harbor engineering to adapt infrastructures and ecosystems under future conditions are steadily growing. The talk will review how increasing climate, and human pressures pose tough site-specific constraints to the combination of conventional and nature-based solutions. The need for engineering in both cases, to achieve an efficient adaptation under future climate scenarios, will be discussed, followed by a short presentation of adaptation pathways developed for actual beaches and ports. The talk will end with some conclusions on how numerical and hydraulic models can help to steer such climatic adaptation.

We are also pleased to highlight that two special sessions of the conference will include presentations selected for publication as full papers in the Special Issue of the journal Coastal and Offshore Science and Engineering.

Early Bird registration is now open for all participants who have submitted full papers.

We kindly encourage all participants to complete their registration by July 11th 2025 to take advantage of the reduced fees and to support the Organizing Committee in finalizing the conference logistics in a timely manner.

We look forward to welcoming you to the wonderful Dubrovnik this September!

On behalf of the Organizing Committee,
Dalibor Carević & Roberto Tomasicchio
