Hello,

I am in the Coastal Listserve (at atrit...@gmail.com). I would like to make the below post to the listserve if possible:

Let me know if I need to change anything. Thank you so much for keeping our community connected!

Have a lovely weekend,

Hello,

The Coastal and Estuarine Research Federation (CERF) is currently accepting abstracts for the 2021 [Virtual] Conference in November.

Myself (ERDC), Matt Bilskie (UGA), Brian Bledsoe(UGA), and David Kidwell (NOAA) will be convening a session on Advancements in natural infrastructure to mitigate impacts of coastal hazards. We invite you to submit an abstract to this session. Submit an abstract to this session: https://cerf.confex.com/cerf/2021/webprogrampreliminary/Session2449.html

 Session Description:
The use of natural and nature-based features (NNBF) to reduce impacts of coastal flooding has gained traction in the community’s resiliency design and planning. There is a gap in guidance regarding appropriate NNBF scales, placement, and hybrid approaches for flood risk reduction. As flooding and the effects of climate change continue, there is a need to enhance understanding of NNBF tradeoffs and integration into planning efforts through transdisciplinary collaboration. This session will focus on NNBF scales, benefits (economic/ecologic), and integration into community planning efforts. This session should be of interest to coastal engineers/scientists, ecologists, community planners, floodplain managers, and policymakers.

Please consider submitting an abstract to the Advancements in natural infrastructure to mitigate impacts of coastal hazards session.

Thank you!
