Dear colleagues,
CNR-ISMAR (Venice, Italy) is recruiting one fixed-term Researcher (Ricercatore III livello) for the ERC Consolidator project "MarDepend" (https://cordis.europa.eu/project/id/101170294). The position focuses on the reconstruction of present and ancient Mediterranean meteo-marine climate conditions through numerical modelling of ocean circulation and waves, combined with the study of historical sources, climate proxies, and climatological datasets. The successful candidate will also have the opportunity to interact with climatologists, historians, archaeologists, and economists involved in the interdisciplinary “MarDepend” project.
The call is particularly relevant for candidates with experience in oceanography, marine/climate modelling, and intense meteo-marine events (e.g. waves, storm surge, coastal hazards), with programming skills in Fortran, Python, Matlab, or Bash. Eligible backgrounds include Physics, Mathematics, Oceanography, Environmental/Civil Engineering, Environmental Sciences, and Statistics (or equivalent), with at least 3 years of relevant experience or a relevant PhD.
The contract duration is 1 year, extendable up to 2.5 years. Application deadline: 3 July 2026, 18:00 CEST. Official information and application links are available at Selezioni online Consiglio Nazionale delle Ricerche - Tempo Determinato - 331.13 RIC ISMAR
Please circulate widely to anyone who may be interested.
Best regards,
