Dear colleagues,

We are pleased to announce the public release of IH-SET (Shoreline Evolution Tools), a new open-source software for shoreline evolution analysis and modelling, developed at IHCantabria.

What is IH-SET?

IH-SET is a modular framework designed to support the analysis and simulation of shoreline evolution across multiple spatial and temporal scales. The tool integrates several modelling approaches within a single workflow, facilitating data preparation, model execution, and results analysis in a consistent environment.

Main components:

The first version of IH-SET is structured in three modules:

- Preprocess – harmonization and preparation of input datasets (waves, sea level, shoreline observations).

Models – implementation of different shoreline modelling approaches (including static equilibrium, equilibrium-based models, one-line models, and hybrid formulations).

- Visualization – tools to analyse, compare, and explore simulation results and scenarios.

The framework is designed for research applications, coastal engineering studies, and coastal management, enabling the exploration of shoreline dynamics in the past, present, and future.
