Project topic:Within the scope of the project, the effects of armor unit type and placement on the wave overtopping of rubble mound breakwaters and the forces on the crown walls will be studied via physical and numerical modeling.
Jobs that PhD scholars will be responsible for:- Data analysis for the physical model experiments with irregular and bichromatic waves
- Numerical modeling studies using an in-house developed computational fluid dynamics code in OpenFOAM that solves the Volume-Averaged Reynolds-Averaged Navier-Stokes (VARANS) equations
- Numerical modeling studies for overtopping type energy converters with the developed numerical model
Candidates must have:MSc degree in Coastal and/or Ocean Engineering, Physical Oceanography, or a closely related discipline,
Strong motivation for academic research,
Proficient in English and academic writing,
Background in coastal processes, numerical modeling, and scientific programming (e.g.: Fortran, Python, Matlab).
