Dear coastal list,

I'd like to draw your attention to a newly-established coastal-focused Graduate Research Fellowship Program at LSU (Louisiana State University) that is funded by the NSF EPSCoR Fellowship Program (EGFP). Relevant research topics are focused on coastal & ocean sciences (e.g., coastal hydrology, hydro-meteorology, oceanography wetland vegetation dynamics, and soils and biogeochemical sciences).  This program exists as part of an LSU-wide fellowship program focusing on the interplay between energy systems and the environment. To be eligible, prospective fellows must have received an Honorable Mention on the National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellowship Program (NSF GRFP) application. Fellows in the EGFP receive the same benefits as those selected for the GRFP. We are still accepting applicants for Fall 2026! If you have received an honorable mention, or receive one in the future, please keep this fellowship at LSU in mind!

Best,
Matt Hiatt
Associate Professor
