Dear Coastal Listers,

We are happy to announce the 2026 edition of the UK Young Coastal Scientists and Engineers Conference, YCSEC:

Monday 13th and Tuesday 14th April 2026 – University of Nottingham, UK

YCSEC is a conference for early career researchers and practitioners in the field of coastal sciences and engineering. It provides a welcoming and supportive environment for MRes, MSc, and PhD students, postdoctoral researchers, and recently qualified practitioners to present and discuss their research. It is a great opportunity to interact with a small community of researchers, allowing you to expand your knowledge and network.

The abstract submission is now open, and it will close on 19thDecember 2025. To submit your abstract, please use the template available at the conference website (see below) and send it by email to:  ycse...@nottingham.ac.uk

The conference interdisciplinary audience and subject areas are intended to promote connections between early career coastal scientists and engineers focusing on both the physical and biological processes within the coastal environment.  In the past, this has included presentations on a diverse selection of topics, such as, but not limited to: coastal physical processes, coastal ecology, marine renewables, coastal flooding, climate change, coastal erosion and morphological modelling, green engineering, remote sensing application to coastal environments, and the effects of pollution.

More information, including the abstract template, can be found here: https://www.nottingham.ac.uk/conference/fac-eng/ycsec2026/

For any enquiries please email:  ycse...@nottingham.ac.uk

Kind regards,

The Organising Committee
