FUNDED GRADUATE STUDENT POSITION: Starting either Spring 2021 or Fall 2021
The Coastal Sediments, Hydrodynamics, and Engineering Lab (CSHEL) at the University of Delaware (UD) seeks a MS or PhD student to work on a new project:
Investigating morphodynamic processes associated with the mobility and burial of unexploded ordnance (UXO) in an estuarine/riverine setting. The successful candidate will collaborate with researchers at the U.S. Naval Research Lab (Stennis Space Center) and the Virginia Institute of Marine Science to conduct analytical and numerical modeling experiments.
We seek a dedicated and motivated student with a background in coastal/nearshore oceanography, engineering/physical sciences, or closely related field. Experience in laboratory- or field-based research, sensor deployment, and data analysis are desired. The preferred candidates will already hold a Master’s degree in the aforementioned fields but excellent candidates holding only a Bachelor’s degree will be considered. The project could foster either a MS or PhD degree option.
Interested applicants should contact Art Trembanis (a...@udel.edu) for additional details. Applicants are encouraged to apply to the Master’s or PhD in Oceanography program (https://grad.udel.edu/apply/) by February 1, 2021 or earlier. Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis as received.
