DICAM at the University of Bologna (Italy) invites applications for a Doctoral Candidate position within the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Doctoral Network Met2Adapt:

“Optimal displacement of meta-structures for enhanced renewable energy harvesting”

The selected candidate will be employed on a 36-month full-time contract, with full social security and fiscal coverage according to Italian legislation.

💰 Remuneration (MSCA DN rules):

  • Living allowance: €45,858.36/year (Italy correction coefficient included)

  • Mobility allowance: €8,520/year

  • Family allowance: €7,920/year (if applicable)

👤 Ideal candidate profile:

  • Degree qualifying for doctoral studies

  • Background/interest in hydrodynamics and wave–structure interaction

  • Experience in fluid–structure interaction modeling and numerical simulations (preferred)

  • Experience in hydraulic laboratory experiments and data analysis (advantage)

  • Knowledge of wave manipulation, periodic media, and metamaterials (advantage)

  • Interest in collaboration with industry on renewable wave energy and coastal protection

  • Strong communication skills in English

  • Open-minded, creative, and able to work independently

  • Willingness to undertake secondments (up to 8 months)
