Hi everyone,

I wanted to introduce you to Going Coastal, a podcast focused on coastal engineering, science, and policy, student research, and professional development hosted by Jon Miller (Stevens Institute of Technology), Marissa Toress (USACE), and Deb Fernandes (University of South Alabama).

Our newest episode, “Meet the New Host,” officially welcomes Dane Lazarus (University of Southern California) as a new co-host. We talk about the U.S. West Coast perspective, Sea Grant insights, Dane’s not-so-linear path into coastal work, and the “usable science” he’s so passionate about; plus a few side quests on favourite beaches and bioluminescence.

If you are a student or an early-career professional and want to be featured, reach out to us at podcastgo...@gmail.com. We would love to hear about your research and/or transition into the workforce.

If your lab, group, organisation, or company is interested in collaborating or sponsoring an episode or more, feel free to reach out at podcastgo...@gmail.com

We drop episodes on the first Tuesday of each month, so be sure to subscribe. You can find us on all your favourite platforms:

If you want to dive into older episodes, here are a few of our most-listened-to:
