PhD and Postdoctoral Positions in Coastal Morphodynamics (Barcelona, Spain)

Dear colleagues,

We are opening one PhD (predoc) position and one Postdoc position in the Coastal Morphodynamics Group at the Physics Department, Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (Barcelona, Spain). Both positions are associated with a new research project called "Coastal morphodynamic processes driving tipping points at multiple scales in sedimentary beaches under global changes (COASTIP)", funded by the Spanish Government (2025–2029).

The project is focused on the study of morphodynamic tipping points in coastal systems under climate change, using numerical modeling approaches across multiple spatial and temporal scales. The research activities of the new positions include the development and application of numerical models, the interpretation of morphodynamic behaviour, and collaborative research activities within the group and cooperation with other research groups involved in the project.

*Candidate Profile*

We welcome applicants with academic backgrounds in:

- Physics, Civil Engineering, Mathematics, Marine Sciences, Physical Geography, Geology, or related disciplines.

Skills that will be particularly valued:

- Fluid mechanics, Numerical modeling or Coastal dynamics.
