We are officially launching a new completely open access journal, the Journal of Coastal and Riverine Flood Risk, published by TUDelft Library.

https://journals.open.tudelft.nl/jcrfr

The journal aims to include all things associated with events affecting coastal and riverine areas, including atmospheric, oceanographic, volcanic and seismic (as long as these take place close to the coastline, in islands, along rivers or underwater) events. Interdisciplinary topics that deal with the described hazards through a combination of engineering, natural science, social science and/or disaster risk management are welcomed. Such studies can be related to the processes of the hazards, their impact on society, and how to deal with these hazards (through any parts of the disaster management cycle).

The new journal is a “sister journal” of the Journal of Coastal and Hydraulic Structures (with Bas Hofland of TUDelft as editor-in-chief) which was successfully launched in 2021.

Some key points about our new JRCFR journal:

-It is a fully open access journal, completely free of charge for both authors and readers (all costs are covered by TUDelft Library and other contributors. This means that you, as an author, do not pay anything to publish, and everybody will also be able to read your work without facing a paywall). We firmly believe this is the future direction academia should take, with all efforts in this journal being undertaken by academics, for academics and the general public.

-Copyright of the published material remains with the authors (you will not be requested to sign any copyright transfer forms).

-Truly interdisciplinary journal, accepting a wide range of paper formats. We are open to various types of contributions, field reports, etc.

-Double-blind review system.

-Will be indexed by Scopus once the journal is two years old (TUDelft Library takes care of this, and their other open access journals are undergoing this process).

We look forward to your submissions. Please do not hesitate to contact us you have any doubts.
