Hi Everyone,

I just wanted to draw your attention to a big event coming up.  Many of you involved with the Jumping-Off Place are familiar with or have submitted to San Diego City Workers Press over the years. Starting on April 28th, we are having three release events at City College, the Centro Cultural de la Raza, and SDSU, with the big one on May 3rd at Centro.  Kelly and I would love it you all would come and help spread the word about the release and help us celebrate the 20th anniversary of San Diego City Works Press (details below).  We want this to be a celebration of exactly the kind of community that we all want to live in despite the current darkness.  In our estimation, joy and community building are an important  form of resistance.

On another note, the Jumping-Off Place has continued to grow and is currently at an all time high of subscribers and reach. We’d love it for more of you to send in contributions! We’re developing a solid audience and are excited to keep it all rolling.

Thanks to all who have helped out in any way.  In solidarity, Jim

I respectfully acknowledge that I live and work on the unceded territory of the Kumeyaay Nation that spans across and precedes the US-Mexico border.  I further acknowledge the lands of the many other Indigenous Peoples of this territory, and of those Indigenous lands where my work may take us in the future. I give gratitude for their labor and stewardship since time immemorial.

I wish to respect your need for rest and separation from work. Please reply at a pace that is sustainable and respectful of you.
