Happy to talk about techtonic with anyone interested in this!

This seems like a great opportunity for a community organizer passionate about tech justice.  Could you share with folks in your networks?

Kevin De Liban is a former legal aid attorney who founded TechTonic to highlight algorithmic injustice for marginalized communities.  You can check out the report they published on their website.

TechTonic Justice's First Job Posting: Community Organizer
From: Kevin De Liban
Date: Mon, 20 Jan 2025 15:06:55 PST

Hi N-LAAN friends. Hope you all are doing alright and hanging in there.

My new org focused on fighting the ground-level harms AI causes low-income people, TechTonic Justice, formally launched in November. I'm writing now to share our first job posting with you all in the hopes that you can share it with people or networks you'd think might be interested.

We're seeking an experienced community organizer (5+ years) for a full-time, permanent, remote position at the intersection of anti-poverty and tech justice work. We are particularly encouraging applications from qualified people who live or have worked extensively in the South. Pay range is $80K-$100K, with generous benefits (specifics still to be determined).

Language access and justice will be implicated in this work in several ways: defending against bad automated translation/interpretation and, more broadly, supporting communities who bear the disproportionate burden of harms from AI use to fight back.

Please find the job posting attached. It's also available on Idealist and LinkedIn. Thanks in advance for your help in spreading the word!

Best,
Kevin
