Dear friends of labor,

We are excited to invite you to TRUST SD’s inaugural Safety in Unity Conference on Saturday, September 20, 2025— our first gathering bringing together leaders from labor, immigrant rights, and other justice movements to confront mass surveillance in San Diego. Please share widely, especially with those you organize with! (Instagram post)

Satomi and Lilly from the Labor Center will be hosting a breakout session on surveillance and the working class fight.

TRUST SD (Transparent and Responsible Use of Surveillance Technology) Coalition unites more than 30 San Diego community groups and allies in resistance to unfettered mass surveillance. This conference is a chance to learn, organize, and imagine together how we can build a world without the dangers of surveillance.

Conference highlights include:

Keynote address by Lorena Gonzales, President of the California Labor Federation
How We Fired Flock in Oak Park, Illinois
Surveillance and the working class fight
Surveillance and the attack on immigrant communities
Community tabling by partner organizations
Lunch + open space for relationship building and movement strategizing
Live interpretation in Spanish and Somali
