Dear UC San Diego Students,
Are you interested in strengthening your science communication skills, particularly for broader, non-expert audiences? We invite you to participate in a Science Communication Training Workshop designed specifically for UC San Diego undergraduate and graduate students.
Date: Friday, May 16, 2025
Time: 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM (LUNCH will be provided)
Location: Natural Sciences Building (NSB), Room 2303
This dynamic, 3-hour workshop, led by experts in Informal Science Education and funded by the UC San Diego MRSEC/Fleet Science Alliance, will provide practical tools and strategies for communicating science in ways that are accessible and engaging. It’s an excellent opportunity to prepare for public engagement and community outreach activities. Certificates of completion will be awarded and participants will be guided in how to report this professional development on their resumes/CVs.
Spots are limited, so we encourage you to register early - REGISTER HERE
We hope you'll join us!

"Many of us remember our first experience with science or the first time we heard about a scientific finding that ignited our curiosity. These early experiences draw us in, capture our imagination, and provide us an entry point we may otherwise never know exists. We can attribute these moments that sparked our intellectual curiosity to the science communicators who took the initiative and the accountability to share science with a wider audience."  - Daniela Schiller et al, Nature Neuroscience, 2024.  It is our goal to support you in becoming the next generation of science communicators!
