I am excited to announce an open postdoctoral position in our Advanced Microscopy Training Program at Harvard Medical School. We are seeking excellent scientists with a strong background in optical microscopy and a passion for advancing scientific research
through cutting-edge imaging techniques.
Our program is designed to equip fellows with expertise in a wide range of quantitative light microscopy techniques, including confocal, TIRF, FRET, FRAP, photo-activation, single-molecule imaging, light sheet, and super-resolution microscopy. In addition to
mastering these techniques, fellows will acquire the essential skills needed to manage a large, heavily-used core facility, and work on a scholarly project of their choice.
Key aspects of this fully-funded 2-3 postdoctoral fellowship include:
• Hands-on training and experience in advanced microscopy techniques
• Opportunities to advise and train researchers on imaging experimental design and instrument usage, for a wide variety of biological specimens and experimental approaches
• Exposure to core facility management, including equipment troubleshooting, protocol development, and performance testing
• Scholarly project opportunities, such as organizing and teaching microscopy lectures and workshops, leading microscopy discussion groups/journal clubs, and designing or implementing novel imaging techniques
This program offers a stimulating career path for scientists with experience in advanced quantitative microscopy techniques and an interest in facilitating scientific research across diverse disciplines. Our fellows are integral to the success of our microscopy
facilities, providing invaluable expertise to researchers and contributing to the advancement of science.
