A Call for Abstracts
The 2025 Sanford Stem Cell Institute (SSCI) Symposium is a two-day conference scheduled for Thursday, Oct. 16, and Friday, Oct. 17, at the University of California San Diego in La Jolla, California, with an excellent lineup of guest speakers. It is hosted by
SSCI Director Catriona Jamieson, MD, PhD.
The event will include a trainee poster session Oct. 16 with monetary prizes for the winners, who will have an opportunity to give a brief presentation. Authors of selected abstracts will also receive monetary prizes and present their work at the symposium
on Oct. 16.
Prizes will be awarded for top submissions that reflect recent work on stem cell and regenerative medicine-related projects.
A $5,000 prize for research and travel will be awarded to each of the following:

1 outstanding stem cell graduate student (MD, PhD or combination thereof)
-
1 outstanding stem cell postdoctoral fellow of the year

1 poster at our in-person poster session on Oct. 16 from 5:30 – 6:30 p.m.
A $200 prize will be awarded to two runners-up, who will each be allowed to give a five-minute blitz talk at the symposium.
The deadline to submit abstracts is Friday, Aug. 22, at 5 p.m.

Submission Instructions
Please submit a single-page PDF document with the presenting author’s last name and affiliation in the file title. Additionally, please put the applicant’s name, principal investigator and applicant type (e.g., graduate student, post-doctoral student) at the
top of the abstract page. Submissions should be single-spaced and use Arial font size 11 with 1-inch margins. The character count limit is 2,900, including spaces.
