About the Speaker
Sean J. Morrison is the founding director of the Children’s Medical Center Research Institute at UT Southwestern in Dallas, Texas,  and a Howard Hughes Medical Institute investigator. He holds the Mary McDermott Cook chair in pediatric genetics and the Kathryne and Gene Bishop distinguished chair in pediatric research.

Morrison’s lab investigates how stem cells maintain adult tissues and how cancer cells exploit these mechanisms to form tumors. His research bridges stem cell biology, cancer biology, and regenerative medicine.
