The Registrar identified an issue today in the student view of the Class Search: the ability to add a class to your shopping cart from the Class Search is apparently unavailable. 

They are currently testing the fix, but you may not be able to add a course to your shopping cart during your validation appointment in the normal way. 

There is an alternative way to do it though! You can still add classes to your shopping cart by entering the class number instead of using the “Add to Cart” link.

From the Registrar:
When a student searches for a class in MyUCSC/AIS for the winter term, they normally have the option to “Add to Cart” which adds the class to their shopping cart. Unfortunately, the “Add to Cart” link is not currently visible.  The Registrar’s Office has contacted ITS, which is working on the issue.  We will notify you when the issue is resolved. In the meantime, students can still add classes to their Shopping Cart by entering the class number instead of using the “Add to Cart” link.

Hopefully this will be resolved soon. In the meantime, please use the alternative way.
