LATINA ACTRESSES WANTED!
Rainbow Theater is a 5-credit course (can be audited) held during the spring quarter, Tuesdays/Thursdays from 7-10 pm. It is the UC system's only multicultural arts troupe! Rainbow Theater not only gives students the stage to tell stories from all around the world and from all walks of life, it also provides the opportunity for students to gain hands-on experience as a part of tech crew or acting. No experience needed, just passion and commitment!
This year, the Latin American show being put on by Rainbow Theater is Latina by Milcha Sanches-Scott with Jeremy Blahnkik, which follows Sarita, a young actress dealing with cultural identity issues, based on the playwright's own experiences. Set in Los Angeles, the play focuses on the working poor, the treatment of immigrants, and women's rights. We are looking for:
☆ 11 Latina women (1 of whom is specifically Afro-Latina)
☆ 2-3 white actresses
You
must be available for rehearsals 7-10 pm T-Th, April 15th for a Show & Tell midterm, and the weekends of May 8th and May 15th for performances.
