SUMMER SESSION CLASSES  


INTRODUCING THEA 31E, 

A NEW 2-UNIT STUDIO DANCE CLASS!


Summer Session enrollment opens May 1 at 9:00 a.m.!

Open to UCSC students, new admits, high schoolers, and visiting students.


SESSION 1 June 23 – July 25, 2025 (5 Weeks) 

NEW 2-UNIT STUDIO DANCE CLASS! 

(This can help you reach the 12 unit minimum to qualify for financial aid!)


SESSION 2 July 28 – August 29, 2025 (5 Weeks)

Arts Staff Live!  –  Free Art & Music Event

Sunday, April 27 starting at 2:00 p.m. 

Digital Arts Research Center (DARC), Outdoor Courtyard

  • Open to all! 

  • 3 live bands, each featuring UCSC staff (Arcane Lullaby, The Coffis Brothers, and Rasquache Liberation Front)

  • UCSC staff artists will be exhibiting and selling original artwork

  • Enjoy the Pana food truck for Venezuelan arepas & more

  • 2pm - Arts Dean opening event & artists tabling begins

  • 2:30pm - 3:30pm - Arcane Lullaby (featuring Jason Greenberg - Art Dept.)

  • 4pm - 5pm - The Coffis Brothers (featuring Cory Graves-Montalbano - Music Dept.)

  • 5:30pm - 6:30pm - Rasquache Liberation Front (featuring Ricky Lomelí & Russell Rodríguez - Music Dept.)


UCSC staff artists include: Edward Ramirez, Courtney Scruggs, Lucas Gasperik, J Gaston, d Lynch, Jason Greenberg

UCSC Feminist Studies and the UCSC Music Department present

T R I C I A   R O S E


Award-winning writer, internationally respected speaker and scholar of African American culture, racial inequality, and gender, Prof. Tricia Rose is Director of the Systemic Racism Project at the John Nicholas Brown Center for Advanced Study, and Chancellor's Professor of Africana Studies at Brown University. Rose is the author of Metaracism, Black Noise, and The Hip Hop Wars.


Thursday, May 1 

Book talk: Metaracism: How Systemic Racism Devastates Black Lives - And How We Break Free 

11 am, followed by lunch || Merrill Cultural Center     


Friday, May 2 

Lifting As We Rhyme: 50 Years of Black Feminist Sonic World Making - with Tricia Rose, Humanities professor Gina Dent, and Music professor and hip hop artist akua naru.

3 pm, followed by a reception || Merrill Cultural Center


REGISTER HERE so the presenters know how much food to order. 

The first 20 students who register for either or both events by April 23 receive a copy of Metaracism!
