Stage Reading Auditions this month - April 9 & 10

Stage reading opportunity - invitation from Theater Arts M.A. student Stephanie Kemple:

Hello everyone!

This is a casting call for a staged reading of 13th Morning by BT Hayes with a 2 week rehearsal period from April 12th to the 25th with performances on the 24th and 25th of April. I am looking for 5 actors, with no casting specifications. This is a comedic play, where movement and character work will take center stage.

About the Play: 

“This play is the hangover to the work of Willy Shakes’ 12th Night, where they could not say gay because they did not yet understand it as such. 13th Morning wonders, what if we told them about it?” - BT Hayes

If you couldn't tell from the playwright's quote, this is a light and funny show! Movement and character work will take center stage. I’m interested in seeing people’s character work, physicality and accent work. I'm looking for 5 actors, with no casting specifications. I have attached the script of the play if you would like to check it out yourself!

Rehearsals (2 weeks): 

• Mon- Thur., April 12 - 25, 7-9 p.m. 
• and Sundays 2-5 p.m.
• Performances: April 24, 7:30 p.m.,
• April 25, 2:00 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. Friday/Saturday. 

Performances:

• April 24 and 25, Times TBA

What to prepare for Auditions:

• Choose one option out of each group (Group 1 AND Group 2), to perform for auditions:

• Group 1, 90 seconds - 2 minutes:
• Monologue (can be original work)
• Improvised piece
• Impersonations
  
  
• Group 2, 30 seconds - 2 minutes:
• A song (extra points if you play the guitar or ukulele)
• Monologue
• A movement piece
